Overall, this shotgun rates in about Fine to Excellent condition. Other than some light handling marks, the metal is in great condition. These marks cannot be seen when the forearm is in place. The balance of the finish shows marks on the lower barrel from reassembly of the barrel to the receiver. Overall Condition: This shotgun retains about 98% of its metal finish. Type of Finish: Blue Barrel and French Gray Receiverīore Condition: The bores are bright. The stocks rate in about Fine overall condition, as does the recoil pad. The drop at the comb is about 1 ½” and 1 ¾” at the heel.
The recoil pad is ½” thick, has a finely serrated rear face and is ground parallel with the comb at the heel, rather than following the stock’s bottom line. The LOP measures 14 5/8” from the front of the trigger to the back of the Limbsaver marked black recoil pad. The forearm has a 1/16” chip missing from the top, left rear edge where it mates with the receiver. The pistol grip is checkered and has a right side palm swell. The buttstock and forearm show some light handling marks, with one compression mark right at the heel of the comb. Stock Configuration & Condition: The Turkish walnut stocks are finely hand checkered and finished in hand rubbed-oil. Sights / Optics: This shotgun is mounted with a white Bradley bead front sight and a small steel mid-rib bead. Except for the Improved Modified choke, all chokes are approved for both lead and steel shot.
Also provided are Skeet-2, Light Modified, Modified, Light Improved Modified and Improved Modified Zoli factory extended chokes with a Briley choke tube wrench. A Skeet choke is currently mounted in the lower barrel and an Improved Cylinder is mounted in the upper barrel. Both the inside of the forearm wood and the forearm hardware are marked “241374”.Ĭhoke: The barrels are threaded for screw-in chokes. The underside of the locking lugs is marked with the serial number, the Gardone proof, “PSF” with two circled stars and a “CF” boxed date code. The underside of the lower barrel is marked “COLE HARPSWELL, ME / MADE IN ITALY”. The left side of the barrel lug is marked “12/76”.
The left side of the upper barrel’s chamber is marked “Antonio Zoli” in gold script. The left sides of both barrels are marked with “18, 5”, a Gardone proof and “CL MAG 12”. The underside of the trigger guard is scroll engraved and the removable trigger group has the Zoli bow and arrow trade mark. There are at least two proofs on the water table, a Gardone Proof and a PSF nitro proof, both of which are quite faint. The top left side of the receiver is marked “241374”. Markings: The EL features a fully hand shaped frame and fences which are fully hand engraved with deep scroll and game scenes and finished in French gray.
